at least those are my interpretations of the lyrics. 

I remember finding "Infidels" on CD and feeling like I had found a gem I had to hurry up and buy before someone else in the used record store saw it and tried to take it from me. When I have had an exceedingly bad day, I come home, lay down and listen to that song over and over. 

Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris are in Chicago the last Sunday of June ... There's only one way down from here, baby, it's called the land of permanent bliss.
