The Degree Confluence Project

While searching for a new desktop wallpaper, I stumbled across this odd and strangely compelling web site. The Degree Confluence Project.

What is a degree of confluence? It’s the exact spot where major longitude and latitude lines intersect. The purpose of the site is to photograph every ‘confluence’ spot in the world. I personally don’t understand the point of doing this, but it results in some fascinating photos and stories (and some good wallpaper).
