My wife said to simply say I was a blogger and I'd be out in a second.

I was on the orginal jury pool for the murder trial that currently going on (and was in the paper), but they didn't like that I knew a few lawyers and an influential judge. I'm speculating on why they dismissed me, but they were pretty picky and dismissed anyone who had relations or run-ins with police.

I was on two more jury pools, but was never called to be on the actual jury. Mostly it was alot of hurry up and wait, but it was interesting for someone like me who has never been inside of a court room to see how it works. Not quite like my old TV favorite "Night Court".

Even better, tell the clerk you don't believe in jails and you have no intention of convicting anyone of anything.

But then you'd be shirking your civic duty and we'd have to depose you to Venezuela.

Hey, I'm in Phildelphia this week, where Richard Thomas and George Wendt are starrring in a stageplay of "12 Angry Men." What are the odds ... [this week, it all revolves around me + Philadelphia]

If you want out of your civic duty, I recommend going in and shouting "Hang 'em all!" at the top of your lungs. You should be home by lunch.
