Depending on where you shop, you may have noticed small expiration dates are now being imprinted on your eggs. EggFusion, based in Deerfield, Il is currently the only company with FDA approval to do ‘lazer etching’ of egg shells.
Well, it didn’t take long for someone to take the idea an extra step. Advertising. That’s right, you will soon be smacked with advertisements on your eggs in the morning. The first to sign up is CBS, with slogans such as “CBS Mondays – Shelling Out Laughs� and “CSI : Crack The Case on CBS�.
Thumbs up to the ad exec who thought of this; it’s very clever indeed. Everyone buys eggs, right?
Keep an eye out. This is just the beginning. I have no doubt that this is going catch on big-time. Soon I may have to start shopping at natural food stores just to buy eggs without advertising for my kids to color on Easter…
