Arbors
WEEK reports that because funding was not found, today begins the symbolic destruction of the Arbor District with the official tearing down of the Arbors.
Trust me, they’re not coming back. Out of site, out of mind.

That picture of the arbor reminds me of the Flintstones. So, are they going to start calling that neighborhood “The Arborless District”?

When the last neighborhood in Peoria has nice sidewalks….

And now they’re gone…. Bummer. Don’t you hate it when landmarks are erased?

Reminded me of Stonehedge. I’m glad they took them down before they fell on someone and we (the City) got sued.

Emtronics also advocates tearing down:
* The Great Pyramid (it’s old and not ADA-compliant)
* The Statue of Liberty (ditto)
* The Empire State Building (not big enough)
* Mount Rushmore (needs replaced with modern presidents)
* Stonehenge (too dangerous, already half ruined)
He always leases his cars so his ride is never more than three years old, too. Old=bad. New=good!

Well not the Great Pyramid. It can be studied and retrofitted with a/c and a Starbucks on the lower level could be built into the side.
I never lease as an American car won’t last 3 years.

Oooh! I like that idea — they could serve the coffee in pyramid-shaped cups!

As the Arbors go, so does our neighborhoods.

I tried to get a picture this morning before heading off to work of the rubble that used to be the Arbor. With my trusty camera in hand, I find a good angle with the demolition tractor in the background only to find out that my SD Card is in my card-reader at home, NOT in my camera! Crap. I keep spare batteries in my car, but not spare SD cards.
