Sneak Preview of the new www.Peoria.com

www.peoria.com. It’s obviously under construction, and I’d never had seen it if it didn’t show up on my blog stat counter. I’ll admit, it’s got a nice look to it, though the logo at first glance appeared to be the skyline of Peoria with a big trumpet in the foreground.

I’m listed under “Peoria Bloggers” in the forums section. Who else is listed? A Knight In Dragonland, Emtronics, Eyebrows McGee, Peoria Chronicle, Peoria Pundit, Polly, and Vonster. That’s a nice blogger cross-section, though there are many notable omissions (see my sidebar).

Just for fun, the About Us page says: “Peoria.com is a community web site for Peoria, Illinois, launched on January 1st, 2007, and owned and operated by the Kosmin Media Group.”

Who is the Kosmin Media Group? “The Kosmin Media Group is currently developing interactive, useful web sites for Houston-area communities. Our web sites feature interactive elements such as online polls, classified ads, and message boards / community forums to help strengthen the these communities’ online presence.”

I’m certain that it’s a collaboration and/or usage of their web design services. For what it’s worth, the forums page on a site designed for Kingwood, Texas is fairly active, which suggests that Peoria’s site may be a good addition to the interactive Peoria web community, especially to the average Joe who doesn’t know what a ‘blog’ is, but might find a message board interesting. I doubt it will turn into the main web portal for Peoria, but who knows? A central site for Peoria news, reviews and open forums has been a long time coming.

Peoria.com designers- thanks for the link. Hopefully you won’t remove me after this post.

    Where’d it go? All I get when I go there is this:

    Woah there…not so fast.

    Peoria.com will launch Jan. 1st, 2007!

    In the meantime, check out these clever buggers…

    * Peoria Pundit

    They had me linked, though? I feel kinda guilty ’cause there are bloggers like Scott Janz & Scott O’Brien that have been going for longer than I have.

    Well, at least they’ve got a sense of humor!

    Knowing full well the ephemeral nature of “under construction” Websites, I captured a screenshot.

    I’ve been doing this a while.

    I’m jealous … I want to be a “clever blogger” …

    Oh wait … that says “clever BUGGERS” … nevermind!
