F. Scott’s
I feel obligated to express my sadness that F. Scott’s, what I consider one of the best restaurant in town, will be closing soon. The cliff-notes version of why is because the floor is slowly sinking- the owner of the building, Jeff Graves, has offered to fix it, but Sully Sullivan wants to be paid for business lost during the downtime. Apparently he’s exausted all legal measures and has decided not to renew his lease.
I am speculating here, as the Journal Star article did not go into specifics, that Mr. Sullivan did not know of the problems with the building at the time of opening the restaurant. The owner quite possibly did, which is the reason behind the legal fight and why Sully feels he is obligated to be reimbursed during the downtime.
I didn’t know what to think at first, but after reading employee Rob’s take on it (on Angie’s site) and also considering who Jeff Grave’s lawyer is, I have to put my support behind Sully Sullivan.
I plan on visiting one last time before it closes.

I agree. Hands down one of the best resturants in town and definitley the best steak.
We’re going to hit it once more also.

I liked the Madeline reference on Peoria Pundit.
Our daughter’s a big fan.

I read those books what seemed like hundreds of times to my first daughter. It was her favorite and she didn’t want to hear anything else! I didn’t mind, I like them too, though there are a few lines that I always stumbled over because the rhymes didn’t translate well.
