Only in Wisconsin
The Ninth Annual Testicle Festival was held over the weekend in Elderon, WI. Admission was free and $5 gets you all you can eat deep fried Sheep, Lamb and Bull testicles.
T-shirts that featured a bull, the event title and the phrase “I had a ball!” were available for purchase.
“They’re not so different from regular meatballs” [also served at the festival], said Butch Jubert. “After a few beers, you can’t really tell the difference.”
No doubt, fried Cheese Balls were also available, with Pasties being a popular takeout item.

Rocky Mountain Oysters

PI - Hey Elderon is not too far from the cabin I’m building up nort’ der. I’ve never had the old Rocky Mountain Oysters before, but of course I’ve also been to China several times so who knows. Thing is I’m sure that they’re ok deep fried. I’d probably go with the lamb for starters.
One correction/warning - if you ever travel to Wisconsin, enter a tavern and order fried cheese balls, don’t say I didn’t warn you. They’re “cheese curds” my man and calling them otherwise will target you as an Illinoisan pdq.
BTW - I’m glad that you didn’t pull a vonster and call the post, “Meanwhile in a blue state…”

I’ve only had Rocky Mountain Oysters once, but they were really good. Kinda like chicken gizzards…chewwwwy.
There’s another “Testicle Festival” somewhere up around Rockford, too…can’t remember the name of the little town. We were gonna hit it last year, but Ziggy wound up having to work that weekend. They had the “I had a ball” t-shirts, too.

Illinois has its share of “testicle festivals” …
Mount Sterling
Huntley
Byron
So it’s not really exclusive to Wisconsin.

I see Huntley and Byron are both Turkey Testicle Festivals. I wonder if Tremont ever considered this?
