Miss Me?
(don’t answer that)
A funeral took me to the far reaches of Missouri for a few days. It’s funny how having no access to the internet when you are accustomed to relying on it can affect you. On the way out I was kinda bored so I started thinking up posts in my head and even wrote a few down. On the way back I was kinda bored too, especially since my leg cramped up which meant my wife had to drive. Being the stereotypical man that I am, I prefer to drive, so me being a passenger is not a good thing for the driver. I did my best to be nice and curb my criticism; in return I was allowed to bore her with my XM Satellite and AM selections.
Seriously, I really love road trips with my wife, as it is one of the few times that we can spend alone and talk without distraction for hours on end. In total, 15 hours in the car with one hotel stay in between.
When we arrived home after our short whirlwind trip, the kids were all anxious to see us and many hugs were passed around. I am proud to say that I didn’t check out the blogosphere until 45 minutes had passed.

Ahhhh…I bet you were thinking in your head, “I wished I had that wireless internet access from Verizon right now!” Especially when the wife had to drive. Haha! (RE: your comments on Peoria.com Laptop thread)

You got that right.
I should’ve added “blogging will be light” to my original post. Work really piles up when you take a few days off…

So sorry for your loss.
But, I must say, I love road trips.

Hey, but you’ve got all those pre-written posts, to tide us over, right? Right?

Yea, I’ll scan my scratch paper and post up the picture. Hope you can read my handwriting!

This just in from MSNBC.com:
“A survey asked 1,011 American adults how long they would feel OK without going on the Web, to which 15 percent said a just a day or less, 21 percent said a couple of days and another 19 percent said a few days.
Only a fifth of those who took part in an online survey conducted by advertising agency JWT between Sept 7 and 11 said they could go for a week.”

I’m going on a trip out of the country in October and I probably won’t have internet access for 10 days. I’m already in withdrawal.
