Ice Storm Warning in effect from 9 am to 9 PM CST Saturday
Chance of freezing rain…snow and sleet in the morning…then freezing rain in the afternoon. Less than an inch of snow or sleet accumulation. Ice accumulation around one quarter of an inch. Highs in the lower 30s. Blustery. East winds 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 90 percent.
I’ll believe it when I see it. If I recall correctly, last Sunday’s forecast was 45 and sunny and I had plans to clean up the leaves in my yard and do a end of year lawn mowing.
It snowed.
If this ice storm prediction proves accurate, I plan on having a good time slip sliding away, ala Paul Simon. If not, maybe I can finally get around to that end of year yard clean-up.

I do believe last year we have the snow storm from hell that shut everything down for a couple of days. Anything planned for this weekend annually should be moved to a different date. I personally think it it the Richwoods Craft show that is the omen.

Bad day to be a craft show vendor, that’s for sure!

Helpful hint for everyone: When you know there’s going to be an ice storm the next morning, do NOT park your car into the wind when you get home the night before. I had a layer of ice about 3/4″ thick on my windshield when I went out to my car on Saturday.

Also, do not chip ice off of your car facing the wind. You will get hit in the face with large chunks of ice. They are cold and sharp.
