In other news, the District 150 School Board accepted Ken Hinton’s recommendation to shorten the primary school day by 90 minutes on Wednesdays with the promise that “We will see improvement in student learning.” Our middle schools are next in line for this improvement.

I am so happy I dont live in Peoria anymore. District 150 has become a complete and total joke. How do you improve learning when you lessen the hours a student is in the classroom, especially in Primary school where it is needed most? Does the District have some learning through osmosis technology? Was it bought from the Edison Project? There are numerous studies that link test scores and the amount of time students stay in the classroom. Schools that perform well, do not shorten class times. Who the $%#@ does this benefit? Daycares? #$@% me!!!!!!!!!

I think my before and after care giver is starting to get annoyed with me as I keep having to call her to make sure that she is available. Noticed that Wednesday is the shortened day I am assuming because of Monday holidays and teacher institutes on Thursdays and Fridays. If you factor in those our kids are still being cheated quite a bit.
