None of the above. Welcome the newest tenant to Sheridan Village, Hy-Vee. It’s a nice grocery store, but… well… it’s a grocery store.
Not exciting.

I am disappointed Whole Foods isn’t opening in Peoria, but there is a petition to bring this mega health food store to the River City:

I wouldn’t be too upset, Hy-Vee is still 500% better than any Kroger store (no matter how impressive their olive bar or hummus selection is at their newer store on Knoxville).

Could not agree more. It is just a grocery store. Tere one in Galesburg. If gas was a quarter a gallon, would not be worth the trip.
Was in Whole Food in Lombard last week. Wish that was the new occupant.

OK, I just signed the above petition. It said I was signatue #1. That’ll get ‘em moving Ha ha!

Hy-Vee does have an awesome all you can eat Salad bar.

So which grocery store or two will be closing within 6 months of Hyvee opening?
Kroger (pick a location)?
Cubs on Knoxville?
Schnucks?
Sav-a-lot in ghetto-town?

My bet for the first casulty, Ing’s Chinese. HyVee has surprisingly good Chinese takeout. I hope I am wrong.

My vote: Cubs on Knoxville.

I don’t think Hy-Vee is going to influence the closing of Cub on Knoxville. It has been doomed for some time now.

I stopped there the other night. That store reminds me of some market-test store that Cub built to see if there would be enough business to put in a full-size store.

IF the HyVee is going into Sheridan Village - my vote is on the Save-A-Lot in Peoria Heights (is that what they’re calling it lately, Ghetto Town?).
Never seen a HyVee - where to they come from? The name sounds like a chemical to me.
Very, very bummed about no Whole Foods. They’d be freakin’ mobbed if they did open, IMHO.

They’re based out of Iowa. They are nice stores, but still…
