One of the requirements of the developer of the Uplands was that the trolley company extend the Main Street line. Those tracks were likely installed around 1902.

My grandfather was a conductor on the strret car trolley for years prior to going into insurance. My aunt used to take the streetcar from the corner of Underhill and Main to her job at Bloch & Kuhl’s.

personally, I prefer the benefits of brick roads and trolleys over asphalt.

Conrad — my great-grandfather was also a trolley conductor in Peoria. He became a bus driver when they did away with the trolleys in the ’40s.
