Wonder what happened to them. As I recall, the water in the tunnel was usually a foot or more deep before the cave-in. Just in front of the old door is a miniature manhole cover (for lack of a better word) which you can remove to see and feel the spring water flowing into a drainage pipe. When I found the Mineral Springs there really didn't look to be much of the stairway left. Of course there was debris in the tunnel from the cave in which covered some of the water flowing beneath it. The spring was still flowing though, I could hear it through the drainage pipe below the metal door. Just a funny note, along with the metal chain on the door, someone had put a purple bicycle chain on the door too. Looked a little odd.
